Projects and activities
Beyond the festival, Gran Angular is involved in audiovisual education, documentary production and international solidarity. Four lines of work connected by one idea: cinema as a social tool.
San Rafael en Corto (SREC)
Our core activity. 22 uninterrupted editions since 2005 screening Canarian and international short films at the Víctor Jara Municipal Theatre in Vecindario. A non-competitive showcase with a single award: the audience's.
Cine con Clase

"La Berma"
A 2,720 km wall · A people split in two
Directed by Agustín Domínguez, "La Berma" portrays Yauguiha Mohamed Embarec, a Sahrawi refugee who grew up in the Tindouf camps having never seen the land of her grandparents. The feature follows her daily life on the other side of the longest military wall in the world after Korea's: the berm built by Morocco in Western Sahara, 2,720 mined km that have separated Sahrawi families since 1980.
Filmed between the Tindouf camps and the liberated territories, the documentary is also an intimate portrait of prolonged exile, dignity and the life that persists in the face of international neglect.
